Planning

Planning is the Plan step of the Work Lifecycle: the assigned agent or team turns an Activation into an executable Work Plan. Decomposition produces Work Items, each is bound by a Work Contract, estimated against budget, tagged for regression risk, checked for cross-project dependencies, and staffed. The Daemon treats an incomplete or uncontracted Work Plan as a blocker — nothing reaches Execute until this step is fully resolved.

Task Decomposition

Breaking a conceptual Task into atomic, independently executable Work Items with clear parent/child lineage.

Work Contracts

The mandatory floor (minimum deliverable) and ceiling (parsimony bound) attached to every Work Item — the authoritative reference for Coverage validation.

Budget Estimation

Time and compute cost estimates per Work Item, validated against cascading org, project, team, and agent budgets before dispatch.

Baseline Risk Tagging

Declaring baselines_at_risk on Tasks and Work Items so Regression Checks can be registered and fire before delivery.

Cross-Project Dependencies

Declaring cross_project_deps on deliverables from sibling projects so the Daemon can block Activation until upstream work resolves.

Staffing

Composing a Team for a Project from required Skills, bandwidth and competence Probes, Coverage Eval history, budget, and Squad Templates — with Auto Matic spawning from Archetypes to fill gaps.

Work Plan Assembly

Ordering, estimating, and contracting the full set of Work Items into a validated Work Plan ready to hand off to Dispatch.
