Validation
Validation is Step 7 of the Work Lifecycle: the gate that decides whether produced artifacts actually satisfy a Work Item's obligations before delivery proceeds. It combines automated checks — acceptance criteria evaluation, Work Contract floor coverage, diff review, probe execution — with reviewer requests when human judgement is required, and commits the outcome to a durable validation record.
Acceptance Criteria Eval
Evaluating produced artifacts against each Work Item acceptance criterion and emitting pass/fail signals. Learn more
Contract Coverage
Running the Work Contract coverage algorithm over floor items, detecting Remit Abandonment, and permitting partial delivery only when an authorised Decision exists. Learn more
Diff Review
Inspecting the delta between baseline and produced state — scope, touched files, and ceiling escapes — before validation signs off. Learn more
Failure Response
Routing validation failures: retry with gap injection back into Execute, or escalate to an HITL checkpoint when retries are exhausted or risk demands it. Learn more
Probe Runner
Firing delivery-time Probes against completed outputs — including the grounding check — and recording results alongside the validation record. Learn more
Reviewer Request
Issuing Consult requests to named reviewers or permission-gated Persons when automated checks are insufficient, without transferring Work Item ownership. Learn more
Validation Record
The authoritative artifact summarising every check run at the gate — inputs evaluated, results, reviewer responses, and the delivery decision — written to the Run record. Learn more
